I bought one of his JDM TT engines back over the summer of '05. It was supposed to reach me within a week, but after about 4 weeks of phone calls to Furqan and the shipping companies, and trying to track where my motor was, the engine came to me covered with a cardboard box, sitting on a tire. The freight truck driver said it wasn't even on a pallet when it came to him and still had no strapping securing it. It was a real concern for me and I called him about the situation. He stated that it left his shop strapped on a pallet and that he had no idea how the engine was separated from it. Upon further inspection of the engine after unwrapping it, I noticed some damage to the water pipes on the rear that supply and return coolant to the TBs and turbos. No big deal I thought since I had a junk motor I could pull parts from. Well, I ended up having to pull the upper and lower plenum and replace the supply pipe from the water pump. The idle control valves on the rear of the upper plenum were broken as well as the EGR and had to be replaced. The ads state that they are "Full long block...Ready to drop in." Granted, I knew that some things would need a little work and a 60K was due, but I was missing major parts including coil packs and had major damage. Here's a pic of the damage and shipping (minus the cardboard box.)
Furqan politely told me that he only compression and leak-down tests the motors and only guarantees that the oil pan, plenum and turbos are included. Nothing else. He said he would look for parts to replace what was missing, but since I had spares anyway and to avoid hassle, I just told him to forget it. On hindsight, I should have taken what he had to give, but just didn't want to fool with it.
The motor does run really well and I'm overall pleased with the swap, but I can understand people's frustration when dealing with NyxMotorsports and their engines.
